Lavender -Lavandula angustifolia- a fragrant, floral scent, steam distilled from the flowering tops of the plant. Sweet smelling and tranquil with a pleasant floral bouquet and calm soothing scent, lavender is one of the most widly used essential oils. Lavender (from the Latin lavare, 'to wash') earned this name because of it's use in baths to help purify body and spirit. Lavender is a natural remedy for insomnia and anxiety, depression and mood disturbance. Research confirms lavender produces calming, soothing and sedative effects. Today at Sundance Lavender Farm we distill out lavender essential oil from 3 varieties of lavender to create a wonderful, balanced scent with light, sweet notes to sooth and relax. Our 'Grosso' variety has a strong, almost astringent scent while our 'Hidcote' and 'Royal Velvet' varieties add a light, sweet balance to create a wonderful blend of soothing oil for the mind and spirit.
